    symphony no. 6

here is, for the time being, the complete and final version of the just completed symphony. It's my first work using GPO and my first orchestral score, as opposed to just a sequenced version, as well so I still have some things to pick up about both GPO and Overture. I must say I'm particularly in love with the woodwinds (esp. oboe/cor anglais) so they are probably more prominent than usual!

David --thanks for the encouragement you have given me and also a good number of others, I think, on the Forum. You must be kept very busy listening to stuff!

    My pleasure, David.

A longer work like this -- it will take some time for others to get to it -- but I certainly hope you get a good turn-out on this, David... it's very well worth time spent!

    Great work indeed...!

    Just finished the 3rd movement.

There's so many overlapping elements here. You have a good understanding of orchestration... Each instrument well chosen, and blended smoothly into the other. (not an easy this to pull off!)
Also, I noticed there's a keen sense of rhythm!... right on the beat every time.

Like myself , you've chosen a lengthy piece to introduce your work.
It should be well received in time.

A terrific job David, with a strong final ending!
