    Strad-a-doodle

I'm still grinning from ear to ear...

when I first got GPO I did a rendition of this set of variations and it was nice, I liked the sound:

Then the Strad came out, and I wanted it... BADLY...
Not having a PC that can handle it (or the $$$ to buy one AND Kontakt AND the Strad) I had to wait.

So, now through the good graces of a kind someone, we have a rendition on the Strad:

    The difference is simply STAGGERING....

(and I'm still grinning like a FOOL!)

Thanks Gary and other programmers for making such wonderful tools!

(EDIT - revised version posted, same link)

Yeah, and I did notice a slight difference.

I think maybe HOLY COW! might cover it... lol.

    Thumbs up Re: Strad-a-doodle

Yes, the SSV has a very believable sound. It makes music in the closest to real violin possible way, today.

Paganini would have loved it. I know I did.

Well, if this doesn't make converts of us all, I don't know what will. The unaccompanied violin really shows the qualities in the most convincing way.
One question: did your original file have the same level of articulation(s)? Certainly the second version is better, but I wonder how much more could be done with the first...

It's easy to share your excitement!

    Hmmm ...

the piece is nice and I would really like to entirely jump on the bandwagon ... but I wonder why everybody seems to think that good violin play needs a lot of scratching at the head of a note. Is this really what you are used to, folks?

This is not meant pathetic. I am really asking myself if I missed something.
