New Solo cello DEMO for VSL VI

If you are interested I have a new solo cello demo for the VSL VI. It is a piece by Ernest Bloch entitled "Prayer." I tried very hard to capture some of the expressive playing that a real cellist would bring to the piece. I think it's turned out quite nicely.

The piano is PMI's Bosendorfer 290. The reverb is Wizooverb W2.

(The piece "Prayer" is the 8th one down on the page)

    Best,

The cello sounds as usual a little bit better than solo violin. You take the opportunity in your demo, my congratulations.

Did you add the noises during rests? If you did, are they included in VSL or coming from external libs?

That's really an amazing and beautiful demo. Thanks for sharing that! :-)

How long did it take you to do?

Wow - very impressive - good work.

<ducking>Might I ask you to post the MIDI file? Or is that me being a bit too bold? </ducking>

--edit-- ok, found the .mid file....if I import that file - will that have all of the controller info?

Beautiful piece. Very nicely rendered. This example sounded somehow sweeter than most of the VSL demos I've heard. Maybe it's the reverb you used?

This sounds very authentic....although I find the sound slightly strident at times. I'd be tempted to top it a little. Beautifully played/programmed and produced though.

I don't usually hear VSL stuff as it all seems too expensive, so I don't visit their site!

Not a piece of music I'd relax with I'd have to say!

Jay like Eric I'm really impressed - could you explain a little about how you went about this demo; did you use one instance of the VI? It's very expressive.

As a praise to VSL it sounds outstanding, really. But, the celloist...
I wish i'd born 10 years later (not really).
    W2 is something...

Beautiful work Jay. I like hearing the sound of the fingers hammering on, and the bow noise in the crescendo's.
The non-vibrato notes have a "glassy" sound that is really interesting.
    Good stuff.

    regards Joe
