    Symphony no 6

Just finished my first significant work from scratch with 100% GPO (have converted much of my earlier stuff as well). This finale is light and skittish but with a more contemplative interlude which you often get in a rondo-style piece.

    1st movement http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=764486&T=8032
    2nd movement http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=763283&T=5312
    3rd movement http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?pid=763002&T=2466

    19/3
I've added the first two movements as well (download .mp3 for best quality). The first is quite long and there's the odd rather static passage I might still want to work on.

    Welcome aboard, dko22!

Sounds like you're off to a flying start with GPO.

Good work on this, and I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of the movements!

    Best,

    nice work!

    ....and welcome to the forum.

There's some really solid structure here. I admit i'm partial to the darker tones...
The timpani parts blend well, with a terrific ending.

    nicely done.! and nicely rendered

folks, many thanks for the kind words so far. Here is the 2nd movement (as before the download is in mp3 format and will be higher quality than the streamed version). In answer to Ted, this is the first time I've ever been brave enough to post anything i've written --before it has only been for the amusement of myself and the odd indulgent friend or partner. This is also the first time I've been using notation software from the outset, Overture 4, rather than just sequencing and I think it does help to produce less badly written work.

Thumbs up Re: Finale (symphony no 6)

Holly guacamole you really have a handle on finale! I'm learning notational software presently and your work gives me more incentive to pursue. Nice, very, very nice!

Hi Styxx --glad you enjoyed it! Just to clarify: if that finale is "Finale" then no --I used Overture 4 which I'm happy to recommend.
