    Translation.....

I'm currently working on an orchestration of a welsh folk song, and wondered if any of the members, or moderators, could help with translation.

    It reads as follows:

    wrthygog inthuth flagimagogggonin,

    ghithimibithin hadydyen killingmesoggliyen,

    lyllondoniumllyn klacckackackatheforgoggenlyist kleegitlyuond,

    hohhnelylthlylin................gareth.

    Any help would be appreciated..............

    Alex.

    Roughly translated as.....

    So I said to him
Who's coat is this Jacket ?
And the London boyo had no answer to that.

    There we are then. See.

    Re: Translation.....

I had to do a Welsh song for Henry IV a few years back. It was a bit of a bear finding someone not only to do the translation, but to phonetically lay it all out for me. All fun after that.

    Re: Translation.....

I have many Welsh-speaking in-laws by virtue of having a wife who is half Welsh and half Iraqi.
They condescend to speaking English when I am around, but it is nice to hear them chatter away in melodious Welsh.
The older generation of Wales will burst into spontaneous 4 part harmonies at the drop of a hat, and it is one of the most thrilling experiences, because they really open their throats in an uninhibited manner.

    regards

Very smooth Alex. Nice and subtle.
I notice that Spartacus is conspicuously absent...

I think he will be most pleased to know that I am living in fear...LOL!!!!!

To all of you, thank you for the contributions...

Brian, whatever do you mean, very smooth?

    Huh?

I should imagine Spartacus will be delighted!

    Regards,

    Alex.

What??? You think that makes you safe? Hello?

I've just come back after a couple days away. I get this 'note' about some drivel regarding 60% Scottish 40% French 80% German and partly Welsh. Huh?

No wonder your family moved to the States.

    Huh? Hello?
