Crocketts Theme with Atmosphere and Stylus

    Hey Guys,

Decided to have a little fun last night and in the light of the new film coming out I thought it would be fun to recreate / remix Jan Hammers crockett's theme just utilizing Spectrasonics libs. The cue came out fairly well, especially for the quick and dirty job it was. Enjoy!

    Here's what I used:

XTremeFx for all of the sounds in the intro montage.
    1 instance of Stylus RMX
    3 instances of Atmosphere

As I've been on an ambient rather than orchestral kick lately for some reason, I also came up with another ambient cue utilizing RMX (namely metamorphosis) and atmosphere once again.

    Hi Rich,
I just tried the links and they didn't work for me.
    Thanks,

Odd.. they seem to be working for me. Here's a link to the directory where the two cues are located:

    Hi Rich,
I tried that too and it didn't work. It says server cannot be found. I guess that I'll just try again later.
    Thanks,
    Steph

    Rich,

Really cool man!! I LOVE Jan Hammer's music and, in a way, was influenced by it (among others during that time period).

    Great job.

Really cool. I love the subtle use of RMX. Very cinematic.

    Thanks for sharing, Dave M

Great understatement. Beautiful job. Love the feel. Did not care for the snare sample at 1:40 - too thin and bright for my taste, but what's a few drum hits between friends?

Hee hee...boy did that take me back, too...I'll never forget the pilot ep for Miami Vice. Before that show came along, we were inundated by the "A-Team"-esque-Mike-Post-80's shows where the pop tracks were always horrific covers and no one ever seemed to actually get shot because apparently everyone was aiming for the others guys feet. Michael Mann changed all that.

As soon as I heard the intro theme from Jan Hammer I knew that show was gonna be different. I can't tell you how many times my friends and I bailed on a friday night high school party to run home by 10pm to watch it, and a big part of it's allure and identity was the soundtrack. Nice job.

On a related note, does anyone know what Jan used to get that amazing guitar sound of his? I know it was all on keyboard...just never knew what he used and have always wondered about it.

    Hey Rico Rich D,

Is it my imagination or do i hear an audio edit at the introduction of the main theme strongly suggestive of the possibility that you made a shortened version of the track for posting on this site? Hmm?

If you made a full length track, post it! I'm sure i'm not alone in the urge to drive around blasting this during a good red sunset with my window rolled down and my sunglasses on while wearing a spandex tank top, Dockers and no socks.

If this were on the soundtrack, i'd pony up. Call Michael Mann!
