Lightbulb It's time to update and use external video, but how?

For now I've been using videofiles directly in Cubase SX 3 software and sometimes I have annoing performance problems.

So I thought of getting a fairly cheap computer and a bit bigger lcd screen to run synchronizied video using MTC timecode. That way I can install all the video codecs to dedicated daw and leave my Cubase daw alone.

As far as I know I can send timecode from Cubase via midi to other computer? I have no idea what kind of a software and hardware should I get to the other computer. Video stuff are new thing for me, so if someone of you use similar setup, maybe you could give me a good advice what to buy. How powerful should the video computer be? What videocard? Do I need an external timecode hardware?

And I use PCs, but going on mac (maybe minimac is good for this?) can be possible. So both options are fine for me.

    Thankius Maximus!
