My first try of setting some kind of orchestration piece

    Hello,

I am so fascinated of GPO. 3 weeks ago I didn't know that this excellent software exists. So I tried my first "song", please give me a review:

http://www.pcokay.com/the_escape.mp3 (it's not that complex, just look at the title)

    thx a lot

    Woody,

That's a pretty impressive "first try." I'll be curious to see what you post after you've had time to really get familiar with it.

This is definetely a good piece, though u might wanna add reverb on the strings, they sound very raw..

This piece has a great rhythmic drive to it. I like the overall effect. Now, how about more of it. You just got started on this piece. Can't wait to hear what your music will sound like when you learn all that GPO can do.

    I liked it--good job.
Reminds me some of the "Life Aquatic" soundtrack.

    Welcome aboard, Woody!

Woody, the writing and orchestration on this is very, very well done... and I'm not just being nice to the new guy on the block... lol.

I'd suggest getting to work more on the reverb end of things, and this'll be a knock-out of an introduction of your music to the forum!

Looking forward to hearing much more from you, Woody.

    Best,

Thumbs up Re: My first try of setting some kind of orchestration piece

Ah ha! A newbie with a great demo! Excellent percussion work and orchestration! You must be quite an exceptional keyboardist and programmer. Looking forward to your next.
A very warm welcome to the GPO family!

    Thank you very much.

It means a lot to me, to receive feedback from others. Does anybody of you guys earn a bit money with composing music (e.g. for computer games, movies etc.) ? Cause this is a dream of mine, which I want so hard to come true ;-)

    regards

I enjoyed this piece as well! Somebody else mentioned reverb... I would consider adding/experimenting with that as well. Nice orchestration, and nice rhythm. Love that violin

By the way, I wouldn't mind making some money by composing either, but for now I enjoy music for just its own pleasure. GPO is wonderful, ain't it?
