    Music from your Scanjet

    Did you know that HP Scanjets have a hidden ability to play music. According to the hackaday site, "The HP ScanJet 3c/4c have a variable speed scan head that is driven by a stepper motor. The Play Tune command can be used to move the head at different frequencies." They also have a video of a scanner playing "Fur Elise."... newer HP scanners may have hardware activation built-in, according to these two Easter eggs.

    Now if we can get GPO Studio to interface with the Scanjet we can copy some beautiful music.

    If it's anything like "sequencing" for a line printer, the appropriate sample library could be a godsend for "printer musicians" everywhere. Just imagine the man-months that could have been saved creating the performances on this page:

    Ha! I can hardly get music from my own head yet alone a Scanjet.
