    Have I Ever Told You (Adult/New Age/Inspriational)

    Hi folks,

Well the muse has visited at last, and I've just completed this piece.

John Hawksley - Have I Ever Told You.mp3 (6.7 MB)

The piece is adult, new age contemporary, inspirational, it's 4"40'. The verse is a solo for English horn (GORGEOUS instrument in GPO!), the verse is lead by acoustic guitar and there is a synth solo in the C section.

Almost all the rest of the orchestra is used as accompanist, except some figures for the string choir, and some highlights from the brass.

I have to admit, ashamedly, to using the truck-drivers-key-change (step change). I couldn't resist, sorry!! Otherwise I think it's a lovely neat piece, which has come out quite nicely as a pop track.

    Hope you enjoy it folks!

Wishing you health, creativity and hapiness for 2006,
    -John

Libraries That I Can Remember: GPO, London Orch Perc, Pure Guitars, Scarbee bass, Battery, Drum Series 1, Fender Guitar library, Roland VE-RD1 pianos, Dan Dean Solo Lite Flute, Korg WS.

    Nice one, John 'awksley!

Have I ever told you...that I think you are a fine, young composer?

I like your latest work very much. The English Horn work was very pretty.

My best to you for a wonderful New Year.

    John my friend,

    BRAVO again!!!
Truly inspirational (again)!! Excellent in every respect. I love this!!
(BTW I see why you've termed it "adult", but how do I explain to the wife that I'm downloading some adult entertainment?)

As it happens, I was going to contact you today and ask if the muse had visited again. She certainly has! Great song, great mix.

    All best wishes

By the beard of Larry Alexander! Thanks so much for the kind words I'm trying very hard, definitely, I'm glad you liked the piece. Doesn't really fit here but the orchestra fits so well, and the GPO English horn was so utterly, utterly gorgeous I thought I'd post it.

Thanks for your new year's wishes, same to you, of course!

Awroight Jon Thanks for having a listen and also for taking time to comment - I appreciate it!! I'm happy you liked it; the muse really did well this time

As for the missus - just tell her at least it was free (might placate her somewhat

Hope you're having a good holiday and didn't overdose on mince pies (incidentally I got Mr Kippling mince pies from our local English Shop at about a 250% markup!! - but WORTH it )

Hi Steph! Thanks so much for listening to this one, I do appreciate your expert opinion!! The title is indeed a bit of a giveaway - you're very perceptive I doubt the muse will visit for a while, but of course if she does I'll post (if it's GPO)

    Thanks again Steph!

    John, you never miss!

Always great writing, arranging, and studio technique. (Personally, I'm rather fond of truck driver's kick-up, by the way... lol.)
