    Yankee Doodle with GPO

    Hey folks,

I'm somewhat new at this GPO thing, but here's a first attempt....

Be kind - I'm still learning how to properly control this beast!

    Cheers,

    Cheers,
This is one of the more successful first attempts I've heard. You already sound like you've got a pretty good handle on the use of the various controllers. Nice start!

    Thanks, Tom....

I've been messing with MIDI since my first keyboard (a Korg Poly, 1984!) and started with software-based samplers back in 1999 when I got Gigasampler LE for Christmas....

    *******

This one was done in Finale 2006, so I didn't have to learn the controllers right off to make music!

I've actually done several things now with GPO/Finale combo, and can say it is a VERY nice tool to either rough out one's ideas or get a pretty decent rendition. I've heard some very nice things on this board so far, and look forward to learning and sharing as I have time.

    Cheers,

Great control on this, Jonathan (and not a bad set of variations, either).

I'm sure you'll have much to teach MI's (midi idiots) like myself!

    Welcome aboard!

    Best,

    Re: Yankee Doodle with GPO

    Thanks, David....

As I said earlier, this is a neat tool for helping flesh out one's composing - it's nice to get an idea from GPO if it sounds the way it did in my head <chuckle>

Most of my composing experience is for Organ, piano or choir, but I've done a fair bit of orchestration mostly of other folks music, and so am looking forward to doing more of my own music with GPO

    Cheers,
