    problem with steinway

hi ppl, i'm having a problem with the steinway piano, and i suspect it is just my lack of knowledge of the instrument or of midi.
the problem is when mixing my songs, the piano samples cracks and basically stops when playing long chords, i tried other midis by other ppl and the piano works fine, so the problem must be me
tried the sustain pedal both ways, still didn't work, maybe some midi cc?
i'm using sonar 4, tried it both as dxi and vst.
    help please

Is it possible that your buffer size is too small?

no, i play fine with it, with small latency and no problem.
the problem is when mixing, and save it to wav, the sound stops in the long chords, and like i said, i used some midis done by other ppl with the same settings i use in my projects and it worked fine. no problem in the final wav.
i tried the buffer thing but it didnt work .
edit. actually it did happen with a midi by other person i just used

Have you tried turning off the "fast bounce" option in Sonar? Uncheck the "fast bounce" box.

Well, it does seem like a problem with buffers, latency, and polyphony. Try buffers 512, latency 50, polyphony 64 on the Steinway. You did not say what other instruments are also playing, which could make a big difference. While the piano is holding the long chords, is it also doing somethin else?

it is just the piano, it happened while just playing a chord, or doing melodic lines with the other hand also, but Brian2112 tip worked just fine .

Very interesting! I knew about the function once, but never found a use for it. Perhaps you have found it's only function!

    Question Re: problem with steinway

What does the "fast bounce" function do?
    I've never heard of it.

i read the help on sonar, and it mixes the song in real time.
so at least the duration of your music will be needed to complete the mix.
    it worked for me
