I'd like to get a budget laptop for sketching ideas (and/or harmony & counterpoint drills) when i'm not home, with Overture4 & GPO (and/or Edirol HQOR).
I'am not looking for an expensive "mobile studio" to run Gold XP Pro at full, no, it would be more like a sketchpad with just a few tracks of not too-demanding vstis.
Maybe real time audio is not mandatory either, since it would be "mouse-made" music only....
-----
BUT laptops are really new and exotic animals to me, and so I don't know much about the things that are absolutely requested for average audio performance, and more genrally those which are really handy, optional, useless....
-----
For instance, is an integrated audio card + the asio4all free driver a satisfying compromise ?
And so on...
So, thanks in advance to those who already went into this area and can give me a few tips !
