    Orchestral ballad: Rebecca

    Hi folks,

Hope all is well, I do apologise for being out of it recently - busy time at work and no enthusiasm to write during the evenings. However the muse has visited, and I've just finished this track which is a soft-rock orchestral instrumental ballad; well actually it was done last week but I didn't publish in order that the dedicate-ee could hear it first.

    So here it is:

    John Hawksley - Rebecca.mp3 (10.14 MB)

There are a large number of libraries used but of course GPO is the main one and provides the lush orchestral instrumentation.

The other notable library is the Dan Dean Solo Winds (lite) Flute, which is used in a solo context and as sweetener to string lines.

Anyway, I do hope you enjoy the track, all comments gratefully received

    All the best folks,
    -John

P.s. I told myself I would stop naming tracks after girls, but sometimes I'm so inspired, it only seems fair to do so

Ah, John, another *absolutely* lovely piece... you never miss!

And, as always, that Hawksley style comes shining through the mix, no matter the genre, no matter the arrangement. I'd know your work anywhere.

(I do hope Rebecca is suitably honored, too!)

Thank you, my friend, for still another superb piece...

    All my best,

    Wow!

I'm simply amazed at the level of professionalism of this work!

I could easily hear this in film, or radio.

And I'm also amazed at how prolific people are around here….

damn,...It takes me forever to finish on stupid song!

What's your secret for writing so well, so fast?? ( I must know!!)

Hi Fabio, thanks very much for listening and commenting, much appreciated. I imagine your wife would become somewhat suspicious if you started writing ballads for other girls now

    Thanks again,
    John

By the beard of Larry Alexander!

Thanks to you sir for having a listen and taking the time to post - much appreciated! That IV-flat-3 to V thing is one of my favourite progressions, I think it's a lovely resolution of a sad chord to a strong one.

    Thanks for listening Larry!
