    Joaz Samba live Flute

By popular demand (ok, ok, it was LouisD ) here is the Samba with Live Flute.(Gareth Lockrane on Flute)
This proved quite a challenging piece in terms of breathing.Of course when writing it, I breathed each phrase to check that it was all possible, but I didn't take into account the additive effect, of continually taking snatch breaths.
I can confirm that it is playable, but the flute player, is likely to be a bit light headed at the end.
Here is the GPO only file also, for purposes of comparison.

First off, Gareth deserves the Victorias Cross for taking this on. You weave some wicked runs. As before, the legato is smoother with the live flute but the GPO always was convincing. It's only by comparison that the real thing stands out. Perhaps exercises like this will help the programmers improve the samples.

Cheers Dan, the kudos goes to Gareth for the togetherness, because the Piano part was already recorded, and the tempo oscillates between 210 and 255 bpm.It is amazing how a live player freshens up a midi piece, I am almost starting to like the piano part now.

Gareth is fantastic, to be able to do that in headphones without any body language from you playing the piano is awesome!

    Great stuff !

I've listened completely through 5 times, and I still love it.
The ending is very uplifting and optimistic.

Six minutes and four seconds of great music!

Did you play the fine piano part in real time? The flute dude did a marvelous job.

Thanks for this very enjoyable work!

    Re: Joaz Samba live Flute

Simply a marvelous performance. Tricky piece indeed, although not as bad as it sounds. When I played this, I took it just a tad quicker than this performance. It helps a bit with the breathing, although there are Bach Flute sonates that are MUCH worse in terms of breathing than this. He had simply no regard for the human lungs ....

Thanks for this lovely piece .

    Kind Regards
