OT:who was the composer for Blade Runner?

    any ideas?

What kind of synth sample do you think would be the equivalent to that unique sound? ( you know the one....)

    just wondering

V~~~~~~~ did the soundtrack I believe, and they used the CS-80 extensively.

Edit: Er.. why is that blocked out...? Anyway, here's a CD by that artist.

You should check out the CS80v softsynth by Arturia. It is pretty much a knob-by-knob recreation of the hardware synth. Van-g-e-l-i-s tended to use a lot of slightly modified presets in his work and the original presets are featured intact on this recreation, so this should get you very close without much editing.

The Blade Runner soundtrack is a fascinating work. Van-g-e-l-i-s’ version wasn’t released until nearly twelve years after the films debut and as a result there was a plethora of bootleg releases (some of them more complete than the official release). It’s pretty fun to collect all the different versions. I have over 50.

It was erased in a prior post I'd made.

But thanks for the synth information… that was interesting to learn.

Maybe you just need a Greek character set installed on you system.
