Asus A8V Deluxe OR Gigabyte K8NS-Ultra?

What motherboard should I choose for my AMD 64 X2 4400+???

Here in Brazil, I only found K8NS Ultra in one store, the price is much higher than A8V Deluxe in other stores... so??

What sound card? If you have the Echo MIA, avoid the A8V-Deluxe. The two devices are incompatible. Otherwise, my A8V-Deluxe is fine.

I use a M-Audio Audiophile 2496. But thanks, I found the two boards on the same price now.

I'm using the K8NS-Ultra 939 with my system. I've heard not-so-great things about the nForce 4 chipsets, which is why I opted for this particular MOBO. No problems thus far....

I'm now running the MAudio Audiophile 192. Works great! (But so did the MIA in my previous system.)

nForce4 chipsets with firewire or PCI audio cards are a BAD combination...at least for now.

Why is that? I'm looking at an nForce4 board for my next PC...sounds like I may need to reconsider...?

BTW, the Asus I had problems with had a VIA KT800Pro chipset, not the nForce4. However, there is at least one other KP800Pro board that works fine with the MIA. It seems to be a problem with just the one ASUS board.
