Today is the day I order stuff!

After much discussion with parents, many sorrowful looks at my low bank account status, and much drooling at the features of K2 and Overture 4, my parents are finally allowing me to purchase K2 and Overture 4 (after I annoyed the heck out of them every night on the phone, and secured a part-time job on campus ). I'll make the orders tonight!! YAY!! Let's celebrate!

    P.S. I'll be poor for quite some time now . . .

Sean, you won't regret those purchases.

Congrats. You are already poor, so don't worry and welcome to the poor poor folk club.

Amen to that, always make sure that if you buy something that makes you poor, that it can be used at home to generate some income... since you will no longer be able to afford a tank of gas to go anywhere....

    I'm happy for you Sean!

    LOL!!

    Congrats, Sean!
I'll probably order all of my new toys that I've been drooling over sometime next week. (ie: new computer! )

Be sure to check for academic discounts that some software vendors offer to students and teachers.

For example, Finale2006 Academic can be had for about $250 US.

    Peace!

At the risk of echoing Mom and Dad...

Hmmm. I see a definite challenge here.

New toys + new job in addition to school work. Careful. Sounds like a potential for exhaustion.

Remember, the school work comes first. Hopefully you can incorporate this stuff into a school project somehow and 'kill two birds with one stone.' If you have a laptop and if work is mellow , (I worked at the school library for this reason) use some time there for studying and learning your new apps.

And don't let this stuff bog down your social life. You'll never have a social life like at college after you graduate. Now is the time for the fun...

To quote the liquor ads these days..."Our product is best enjoyed in moderation."

    Enjoy!

    Sean, What disipline !!
I wish I had a list that had only '2' items on it.
Sounds like you have this thing under control.

No problem. Here's how it's done.

    Sean's Daily Schedule
    1. Coffee. Lots of it. Shaken, not stirred.
    2. Compose music to listen to in classes
    3. Go to classes
    4. Compose music to listen to while studying
    5. Study
    6. Compose music to listen to at work
    7. Go to work
    8. Set the coffee machine timer
    9. Go to parties, share music with others in exchange for beverages
    10. Pass out (to ensure the proper amount of rest)

I've actually attempted this very same schedule, with varying degrees of success. Once, I ended up retaking an entire semester of courses to restore my GPA to its lofty heights. Those classes were just as fun the second time around! NOT! Luckily I held onto my scholarship.

Yes, it really helps save a few bucks here and there. I've used www.academicsuperstore.com in the past. Or at least my wife did for me, as she's the one that works at a school.
