    KVM switch recommedation?

    Hi there,

I am adding a third giga PC. Can anyone recommend a KVM switch to replace my current '2 port' one? I am thinking 4 port would be just fine.

    Thanks,

I use an IOGEAR KVM switch for four computers and it works nicely. I think it was about $96 a year ago. I don't know the model number off hand.

I like the push botton feature on this one - found it cheap at amazon.

I have had that model for about two years. Works perfectly. I never use those front keys to switch between computers. i use to fast hits of the CTRL key on the keyboard.

    Re: KVM switch recommedation?

I second the IOGEAR recommendation. It's worked better than other brands I have tried.

I would caution anyone against Belkin equipment. I have had 2 KVM switches which have failed. One, the 4 port fancy w USB switching, never worked with one of 3 computers (the IOGEAR and other brand had no problem). Belkin was not very helpful although after lots of complaints they swapped out the fancy KVM, but the replacement had the exact same problem. They refused to go beyond that step. They are also very bad at supporting equipment with drivers that's more than a year or older. Consequently I make it a point not to purchase this brand.
