Please help me identify this recording...

Hi, I'm writing for a dance production, and the choreographer has chosen to use this piece of music, which I believe is a French folksong. Problem is, we don't know the song title, who sang it, and which record label it's released from. I've posted a very short excerpt of it here

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Ray,

I wish Icould help you -as a french musicien- but I tried to ear the post you've made and it was impossible because I don't have the media player. I tried to load it on their web site but the page doesn't exist.
Could you send it in an other format?
    Regards

    Hi

The song is "Dominique" music and words by Zuster Glimlach

Although your version is sung in French, the song is actually Dutch.

    Kind Regards

It was, quirkily, a chart topping hit in the early 1950s or early 60s, sung by a Belgian nun known as The Singing Nun.

Dominiqueniquenique was sung by a Belgian nun, called "Soeur Sourire". On this link:
    http://www.deckers66.homestead.com
you can read the tragic history of Jeannine Deckers, the real name of soeur sourire.
