    Bosco,

that's beautiful. What were the GPO instruments that you used for this?
The reverb was also really well chosen. Gave the effect of a lot of open space.
Nice idea of the solo violin over a very dark sounding string section. Very expressive.

    Thanks Gary for hosting this.

    Steve,
    Instrumentation:
GPO - Timpani KS, Cymbals and Violin 1 Gagli KS solo
    Atmosphere - Adagio Expressivo
Reverb- Sonar3.3/ Lexicon Pantheon Concert Hall
    Wavelab - Waves S1 StereoImager

    short story-
On Wednesday eve I was playing my violin while watching my 12 yr old daughter drawing pictures expressing compassion, empathy and hope for the victims of Katrina. That's when she asked "Are you going to draw a picture and say a prayer for them?"
"I can only draw with my bow" I replied.
So I turned on my old DAT recorder and captured this simple melody from the heart without consideration for technicalities. Then, yesterday morning, I transferred my ideas to my virtual orchestra -GPO plus other tools.
Someday, I might craft and polish the orchestration but for now I hope it conveys our emotions and prayers.

    peace

Beautifully done. The opening was reminiscent of Henryk Gorecki, and like some of his works, contained a similar spiritual quality.

    Thanks for posting this.

The violin solo was extremely well played. And I just love the darkness the strings protray. Very emotional, fits well for a time like this.

Very will done piece! I'm sure victims of Katrina well appreciate this very much.

A very moving piece. One can hear the storm in the opening bars and the violin invocation is very passionate. Nice work.
Never look at the trombones. It only encourages them. Richard Strauss

I hope perhaps you will re-render this piece with the solo violin when it comes out?

    Great work! Very moving.
