Cubase sees ambience, but it has no effect

    Hello everybody,
I have installed GPO and Garritan Ambience, host application is Cubase SE.
According to the manual I have loaded Ambience as 'effect send'.
When I go to the midi tracks 'effect send' section I can select
Ambience without problems, it shows up and I can change the settings.
    So far so good.

So only problem is that it doesn't change anything, whatever I select
(Church, Cathedral) the sound is still dry.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tom

    Tom,
I don't use Cubase, but check in Ambience and make certain that the Bypass button has not been activated.
Just a thought; after that, I'm clueless.

    Good luck.

Thanks for your help, but that's what I checked first...

Are you having Send problems with any other effects or just Ambience? Have you ever got send effects to work ie is this an isolated technical problem, or is it that you don't know how to get send effects to work at all?! I don't know about Cubase SE or LE, but in Cubase VST you would do the following:

    - set up Ambience as an EFFECT SEND (which you have done)
    - identify the AUDIO mixer channel (not midi channel) that your instrument is playing on (I sometimes do that by opening up the MIXER panel, playing a few notes and seeing which channel is lighting up the vu meters - for GPO this channel is usually identified as KPIPO1/2 if the intrument is routed to 1/2 in the GPO player)
    - click on INSERT for that channel in the MIXER panel (which also on VST brings up the SEND parameters)
    - ensure that SEND is switched on for that channel to the chosen effect, and ensure that the send knob is turned to something more than zero.

This may not be how it is in SE/LE/SX, but may help if you have not done it before.
