    network issues

First of all, if there's a place I can post this that'smore appropriate for the question, please say so.

How do I make my 2 winxp machines remember each other on the network??

Whenever I restart either machine, I have to run the network setup wizard on both just to get back to where I was before restarting!! This is a pain, as I use one monitor with remote desktop. That means I ahve to crawl under my desk everytime I want to switch the monitor for configuration of the other box! Help! I was warned that networking is tangly business, but should it really be harder than getting giga to work well?? This is supposed to make life easier!

Sounds like you are using DHCP.
Instead, you should give the network cards/chips in both machines, static ip addresses - preferably on the same subnet.
    eg. 192.168.10.100 and 192.168.10.200

Thanks, Meroveus. I've noticed DHCP interferes with Giga's load capacity anyway, so I'll try that.
