Talking My first paying composing gig...

$50 bucks for a 7 second piece to accompany an internet flash designer's company logo. There was something entirely appropriate that I was supposed to get the piece on Saturday, only to get it on Sunday at 12:30pm with a note saying "can you get this to me before 4?"

Congratulations. First-time projects like this are indeed a thrill. Hope you have many, many more.

Yes I did...he called back and wanted a little alteration 15 mins later in by 6, did that, too.

Truth be told if I had to do it over again I would have paired down the orchestration. The animation was simple and cute and I probably did something too textured. Less is more in some cases.

First paying gig... yes, you'd *better* get it in on time!

Seriously, though... the most important thing is to be building good relationships with your early clients, so keep 'em happy, or the rest of us will steal them away from you!

Congratulations, and I hope you get many more!
