    Big Band

    Hi,

Here is a new try on Big Band sound:
    http://www.chrishein.net/audiodemos/CrazyBirds.mp3
    ;-)
Alt-Sax, Tenor-Sax, Trumpet & Trombone from "Chris Hein - Horns" in the foreground,
and a mix of different brass librarys in the back.

Its the comedy part from my upcoming musical "Tajam". Actually its done with vocals.
The german lyrics are about: "Everbody is different and thats fine."

Camp as a row of pink tents, and very, very accomplished arranging. Nice!

    congrats Chris,
both for the arrangement and the samples.

I don't care to know if it's "gay", "big", or "band", or "true jazz" or whatever (another post here seems to have specialized in that kind of expertise) , but I do know I spent a great moment listening to this.
    ----
So I will really be looking forward to the possible release of those "Chris Hein - Horns" !

I'll go out on a limb and say that's the best big band demo I've ever heard! The ensemble brass parts are exceptional!

What are these "Chris Hein - Horns?" Could you provide a link, please?

What library did you use for the ensemble trumpets? And the trombone cliche parts?

    Outstanding!

    Re: Gay Big Band

Chris that's brilliant. Really ballsy. There are a few fake-sounding articulations, but given the size and scope of the demo, I'd be willing to put that down to details of programming. 99.9% of it just sounds fantastic.

Do yourself and all of us a favour and get some sales and distribution info out before we all buy Gary's library

Oh, and think of a better name than "Gay Big Band"!!!

    Thank you,

There is absolutely no reason not to buy Garritans Jazz Brass Library.
You will never get so many good sounding instruments for that price.

As soon as "Chris Hein Horns" will be available, I´ll let you know.
It contains only 4 solo instruments, but with 20.000 samples,
up to 20 dynamics and up to 44 playing techniques.

The combination of Garritan and Chris Hein Horns might be an
"All you need" solution for Jazz-Brass.

The sounds I used for the background are taken from many different librarys.
    VSL First Edition, EW-Gold, SAM-Trumpets, SAM-Horns, Quantum Leap,EMU-Orch.Lib.,
The old Roland-Libs, and a lot of samples taken from recordings I did with
    horn players in my music-productions.

In other words, this was quick and cheap.

If you put that kind of effort and skill into your demos for your product when it comes out, you're going to sell a LOT of them.

Very well done! Seems like you have two good careers -- sample developer and composer/arranger. Good luck with the musical, post more some time.
