Ready for Battle/Adventure Island - by Matthew Sargent

Matthew Sargent just sent in a new work he recently completed titled "Ready for Battle/Adventure Island"

    Here is the link:

This certainly brings the listener on an adventure. Excellent writing and arranging. I could just hear this in an interactive game or adventure film.

Thanks Matthew for sharing this with us!

    Enjoy

    Nice post Gary, I agree.

It seems to be a mix of various sound sources, isn't it?

(or a smart use of some GPO sound?)

Superb writing. Excellent use of brass in the beginning. This is indeed adventure music.
Never look at the trombones. It only encourages them. Richard Strauss

Thanks for all the great comments guys. Just to answer some of your questions, part of this piece was from other sound sources. Well mainly one.
I recently purchased a new library for its lush synth pads, drum kits, and ehtnic sounds not knowing it had come with a few orchestral patches. This piece was just experimenting a little here and there with the French Horn patch. The trombones, strings and woodwinds were all GPO. Feel free to email me a link to your music! I'd love to hear it. Thanks again everyone.

    All the Best,
    Matt

What a nice piece! I only wish it were longer! I love the melody, and would've loved to hear it come back a few more times with different orchestrations. I think the ethnic instruments from the other library blended very well and gave the piece a unique color to it.
