    "The Harlequin" by Juhana Lehtiniemi

Juhana Lehtiniemi has written a piece called "The Harlequin".

    http://www.garritan.com/mp3/jl-TheHarlequin.mp3

This is the first piece Jahuna wrote with GPO.
It is a magical piece about a man and a cursed harlequin-doll. This is the introduction-theme about springy streets and the man entering a shop and buying the doll and then the outro (man comes home and the movie starts).

Juhana is a 23 years old music student from Jyväskylä, Finland and his instrument is pop/jazz-piano. He was recently chosen to compose a whole musical for a symphony orchestra. He writes "All this is possible because of GPO".

Congratulations Juhana and thanks for sharing your music with us.

I hope to hear more wonderful music from you Juhana!

    This is really nice.

Excellent use of dynamics throughout. Great melodies.

I particularly like the way you played the main themes on the flute and oboe.

    The celeste is beautiful.

    Cool wind machine

    PS:
Great recording quality also. I can hear every part clearly. Also shows good orchestration.

Excellent composition! There is a sense of foreboding from the very beginning. The melodies are superb and are held up by dark but beautiful harmonies. Well done, Juhana!

    very nice work!

    rich in evoking imagery

kind of Danny Elfman-ish... but yet unique on it's own.

    Juhana,

Wonderful composition. Excellent style, always a feeling of the suspended Harlequin, a certain suspense and sadness, longing throughout. You use of GPO provided a very real and sensitive feel throught the work.

Thanks for sharing it with the forum.
