I need an idiot's guide to GPO for Linux!

Well, it's been mentioned breiefly that GPO will work in Linux! I would LOVE to know how - from what version of Linux to use, what benefits or pitfalls there may be, etc....

Anything to get off of Windows forever!

If not Linux, I'll have to go Mac.

Yes, I'm more than willing to rebuild my entire machine for the best GPO experience.... to a certain price limit. A Mac G5 seems a bit pricey, and as neat as the new ones look, I've heard of some bad heat issues....

    Gary,

You've just got to include sampled penguins in GPOA!

Love to help you but all I have is a copy of "Dummies guide for Dummies". Really, hope you find the answer. Good luck!

It's not MADE for Linux, but it supposedly works in it......

...but that's all I know. Gary knows something but he's holding out on us.

On some other thread (don't remember where) Gary said you could use GPO in Linux but you had to do it using Receptor, which is a hardware box that will load and run GPO. Costs about $1400 usd.

If that's the ONLY way, then I'll consider it a "NO".

I'd rather spend that money on a nice G5 Mac. The new ones sure look nice...
