    "Ballerina" (music box)

    Music Lovers,

Here is my "Ballerina" The intended musical mental picture is that of a music box with a twirling ballerina on top. I hope that you like it.

Below is my "Broken Ballerina" which is the same as above but with a demented, and as the Brits would say, dodgy ending. Don't play this with children around as it might traumatize them.

    Nice Larry,

I liked the humorous rewind touch in the middle or does your 'box' need seeing to?

Were you able to catch the free download of an actual sampled music box on the Sample Discussion forum not so long ago? It would be nice to hear your piece using that. It's in Kontakt format (which I know you have) and others too.

I did see that information about the music box, Frank. Thank you, but that one is more authentic than mine and the range is quite limited and I can't use it.

The "warbling" in the middle of the piece is intentional. I used the old modulation wheel to do that.

    Thanks for listenin'.

Very clever piece. It does set the mood that you're trying to achive. The wind-ups are a good touch.

Also, the slightly demented version is almost as good. I dont' think that a real music box would 'fail' in this way, but it sure makes it interesting!

Larry, Excellent piece. Reminds me of Candyland except this one has a nice touch when it rewinds mid-piece and it sounds like it's wound too tight. Come to think of it, I'm wound too tight. Saved it as always.

The "Broken Ballerina" caves in completely at the end. Have you listened to it?

    Thanks and regards,
