    Arrow Optimize Windows XP

Can people please post a few links on how to optimize Windows XP for music applications (sequencer, vst plugins and giga). I have seen references for Tascam, but I haven't found the link. I will be installing XP on a computer for Cubase and Giga later this week, and want to use this new machine exclusively for music composition and recordingnd. I will most likely end up with a dedicated giga machine, and another machine for sequencing, recording and plugins. Any help will be much appreciated.

Great links, thanks! I would add that although several of these articles mention defragging your disk, the XP Disk Defragmenter can only do so much. Products like Diskeeper (Executive Software) can defragment paging files, master file tables and other things that slow down XP machines.

CCleaner I use, but you have to be careful.

Cachemanager I dont need since I have large amounts of RAM and only use it for few applications at a time - for example FINALE and GPO .

    Lightbulb Re: Optimize Windows XP

I want to have one user optimized for music, and another user defined for photo and internet work. Then I would switch users depending on the task. Is this a problem, or will it defeat some of the advantages received after optimizing?
