Post Taiko drums & Shakuhachi samples?

    I'm a GigaStudio 3 user.

I went looking through the sample packs on tascam's site to find one that specifically had samples of taiko drums and other japanese percussion instruments, as well as shakuhachi samples and could not find one. I'm doing all the music for a film my studio is working on, and I need to get samples of these instruments, and I need them soon. Working under a deadline, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Can anyone direct me to a label/title of the sample library that will have these included?

    Thanks,

    Dave

RI has taiko drums, but it doesn't have a shaku, QL RA (kompakt player, not giga) does however. World Winds also has a shaku. For other japanese percussion you will have to look elsewhere.

What about the Ethno World collections? No point in recommending RA since you're a Giga user (but I'll say its a beautiful library. )

Of course, the problem with Shakuhachi is there are an infinite number of manners of expression, and no sample lib can possibly begin to encompass the range. The best you'll find are canned licks, and these will have been used by every Tom, Dick and Elfman...

But Stormdrum isn't Giga. And I looked, Ethno World 3 doesn't include Shakuhachi so that's out.

He seems to want more than Taiko. There are a lot more japanese percussion than just taikos. None are represented in most of the major libraries and definitely not StormDrum. You would have to look into CD/WAV libraries for those.

    oh oops...Giga 3 sorry(gomen wakaranai....)
there are many forms of Taiko Drums , Dai Taiko , Kodo Drum etc.
as for there being libraries of it, the only thing I got was FXpansions ethnic Drums 1 and 2 for DR008 and Yellow Tools World Percussion for the Dr008.
As for Shakuhachi yea World Winds is the only one I know that even has sampled it that much. You should just get something Like Ethno World 3 then you can use Simular sounding Timbres to get your instruments
