    Post Swingset

    Hello Everyone!

All this talk about the new jazz softsynths coming out gave me the itch to write this over the weekend. I also thought we could all do with some cheering up lately. If you're feeling blue, just go to your nearest playground and swing!

    Hi Paula,

I would love to hear a clarinet play the melody in a couple of the "verses"

Maybe I will go find a swing this week, that's a good idea.
There's a park right by my house with a little pond, and ducks like your avatar. Thanks for sharing Paula!

Yes! I am toying with that idea and also plushing it out a little with a few strings. I will update it during the week and repost. Great minds think alike!

    Thanks for the input.

    Best,

Sounds pretty good as is - keep us updated when you revise/add to it.

Loved the cello - it warmed up the piece nicely.

    Drumroll, nice job on this!

The mix on it is very intimate, nicely done; and I agree on the cello -- tunneling that through foundationally works wonderfully to add warmth and depth.

    What a lovely piece! I LOVE swing. . . love 3/4 swing!!!

Nice job with the drum. . . with brushes! Question. Did you record the drum live?? The drum mix (with brushes) sounds and the playing almost seems too good to be from a sound library. And your UserId name is "Drumroll". Just curious.

Love the cello sound. For a little variation, how about a pizz bass sound?? A walking bass. . . .

Again, beautiful piece. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks Ted for your nice comments. My husband is the drummer (he actually registered here on the site so I'm using his psuedonym. I should register my own name instead of being a poser.) Anyways, he used a Roland TD6 (electronic drumkit). It has some pretty good patches for an older sound module. He would love to upgrade, but that is going to take some bucks.

Thanks again for your nice reply.
