Well, I loved it, personally. I think I may know one or two people here in America's heartland who might be a bit scandalized, but we just won't tell them.

    Re: USA National Anthem

Sorry. I was just remembering something that happened recently. I don't know if you watched the Olympics in Athens last year. They had a really interesting arrangement of the Star Spangled Banner that they played whenever an American won the gold. It was different than we're used to hearing, being quiet and very chromatic in the second half. I really liked it, but I overheard some of my neighbors talking about how horrible it was, and whoever arranged it probably hates America and wanted to desecrate the National Anthem and all kinds of stupid stuff like that.

Really, I think these people aren't representative of Americans in general. I think most of my countrymen would have no problem with your arrangement at all. Actually, speaking as an American, I'm proud that you would take the time to produce such an interesting and personal arrangement.

If I gave offence earlier, I apologize. It wasn't my intention.

    Hi falcon

Really nice arrangement. Everything sounds very real. Only the piccolo (or flute?) runs sound very odd (to a flautist, at least ). I think those little runs would have a better effect if you made them more legato. It sounds like every note in the run is tounged. Just a thought....

    Great arrangement.

    Kind Regards

Excellent lead-in. Then it suddenly becomes silent as we anticipate a rousing rendition. But we are given a gentle presentation. Bravo! Yes, most Americans like a romping playing of the anthem but some like a creative approach and this was certainly creative. I listened this 3 times and it got better each time. Thanks for this refreshing interpretation.
Trivia: The tune used in the US National Anthem is most likely “To Anacreon in Heaven” written by John Stafford Smith, a British composer born in 1750.

Red face Re: USA National Anthem

Dan, I wasn't offended but rather surprised because I have heard so many version of your anthem. Some very good and some very bad.
    Thanks for your comments!

Louis, thanks! It's straight from Sibelius so there are some things which I could fix for more realism. Maybe I will do that before the tommorrows chat.

Valhalx, thanks for your comments! I'm glad that it gets only better after more times listened.

Joaz, thanks! What's life without surprise? Boring!

Again, thanks all for your comments! I'm specially glad that USA users like it.
    Sincerely,
    Falcon1

A most interesting arrangement! More coloristic surprises in this than a full box of crayons, and some of them quite ingenious!
