    American Spirits

Mr. Garritan is hosting a contest (in celebration of The 4th) to give away the soon-to-be-released Jazz/Big Band Library. This is my entry. I worked fast on this one because I thought the deadline was July 4th. It was a great opportunity to take some time out to dedicate a little something for the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

The spiritual you hear is based on a song I wrote for a musical but never used - until now. I feel very close to this music - I hope you like it.

    Happy belated 4th of July.

Wow that was very moving and powerful, at times it reminded me of music from Saving Private Ryan and yours compares quite favorably.

Very nice job, I hope you win.

Heh well I guess it isn't that strange that Saving Private Ryan would be playing a lot during 4th of July.

WOW! Beautiful material masterfully developed. I served in the armed forces for 20 years and I asure you it captures the spirit you strived for. The moments at 1:52 and 2:08 were particularly moving. Nice work.
