MOL with OSX and PC's Experiences?

    Greetings.

Is anyone using MOL between OSX Mac as a main cpu and a pile of PC's?

I would love to hear about any of your experiences working in this fashion.

    Best regards,
    Didier

I use MOL CP with a Mac running DP4.52 controlling PCs. It works great!

Re: MOL with OSX and PC's Experiences?

    Latency issues?

XP OS upgrades on older PC's necessary?

Are you in OSX Le Tigre yet?

Thanks for any info/experiences. I am excited about this. I would prefer
an FX Teleport situation, but am pleased for Max that he is on the mend.
Perhaps later this year for that then.

    Best,
    Didier

No problems here, Didier. I sold my second 8-port interface a while ago because of MOL.

Le Tigre est courante ici. Pas des issues avec le latency - au contraire.

2x2.5 G5, aussi sur 2x1GHz G4. XP sur touts les PCs.

I use MOL ver 2 with Mac OS X (Panther 10.3.8) and a PC with XP pro SP1 connected directly with an ethernet cable between them. ..works great..no more latency than a hardware midi interface..

    Merçi mille fois!

Exactly what I was hoping to hear.

Nick, I await your premiere issue. Congrats again!

Re: MOL with OSX and PC's Experiences?

powernook to Xp machine with MOL CP...works great!

But how do you guys keep the IP address from changing everytime he apple has to be rebooted.

I have to go into MOL on the XP machine and enter in the new IP address everytime the apple is re-booted.

There must be some way to keep the IP consistent even after a re-boot.

Re: MOL with OSX and PC's Experiences?

Under system pref in OS X I see this ethernet connection is using a DHCP. I don't see where I can actually 'fix' the address.

Totally sorry to hijack the thread. Let me add in the spirit of the thread that once you do MOL CP you'll never look at another midi i/o box again. This prog has been one of several inventions of the decade for midi musicians/composers.

Buy it fast. And I'd like to also plug Forte as a reliable VSTi host for the PC.

Re: MOL with OSX and PC's Experiences?

    Steve,

Thanks for the info. Please discuss...

I am also considering Plogue's Bidule...see my Ableton thread. I currently use V Stack, which is fine for the symphonic things, but for loops which change tempo slightly to picture, I need flexibility.......

Apparently, despite the recent updates, Forte seems to still have some tempo-locking issues (slight as they may be)....any thoughts...anyone?
