    Steinway Convolution

Does anyone take a HUGE CPU hit when this is added to a stack of instruments? Once I get rid of convolution, everything is fine, but with convolution added, I have to up my latency considerably before it will play properly.

Whenever I load this instrument, with "convolution", it crashes my system even though I have 1 1/2 gigs of RAM and a 2.4 gigaHertz Pentium 4 CPU.

I reported it to Native Instruments and they made some suggestions, none of which worked.

It's unplayable for me - all I get is machine-gun stutters. That convolution reverb is just impossible to work with.

    OS X 10.3.9/G4 dual 800/1.25 Gb RAM.

    Kind regards.

Yeah, I get the machine gun thing, too. Athlon PC. But if I up my latency to 10, all is fine -- except my latency is at 10 and I friggin' hate that.

Yeah, it's like trying to play a rubber keyboard :-)

    Kind regards.

Three notes with miinor sustain before convolution brings down my 2 gigs of ram in an I Mac G-5.

Figure it is a tool I cannot use.
