    Sample first time composition. Finally

Well i think i have it working right.

I will try to get a dowloadable link if people want that. Just give me some time to figure that out. I would love to hear some feedback, as it is my first attempt.

I have an ending worked out already but I don't want to spoil it. LOL!!!!

Right now I'm working on that middle section from the brass entrance.

Yes (per other post) the link works, now, Superb_Tenor.

And a pleasure that it does, too -- some very lovely melodic work in this!

    Thanks again etLux,

i think I have the knack you might say of melodic writing. My wife tells me the ideas I have are stunning. I'll be incorporating more of those samples in other pieces certainly when I have the time. Tough to work and play don't you think?

    Indeed!

Somehow it seems vaguely criminal to have to work for a living when you should be writing music... lol.

Great to hear! Was wondering about the orchestration. First time composing for orchestra.

    Excellent effort, Superb!

As others have said....a very nice melody and the orchestrations are pretty good too. I guess the clarinet solo/ duet could be improved with some MIDI tweaking.

The melody and ideas are so good that I would be interested to hear what a 'pro' arranger/orchestrator would do with it. How would/could a 'pro' improve it?

    This is an extraordinary debut.

    Well done.

    Thanks

    Frank

    Superb_Tenor,

You're off to a great start and living up to your screen name (the superb part ). Catchy melody. This music is "my cup of tea" and I wish it went on longer.

I agree with Hardy that this is an extraordinary debut. This would be good as an exercise to see how others would develop this theme.

    Hello Superb_Tenor -

I'm smiling. I can't stop smiling. This piece is beautiful. Reminds me of some of John Barry's work (see Dances with Wolves and Somewhere In Time).

    Yep, I'm still smiling.

    Thank you for sharing this.
