VST's versus Real Samples For The Drums.

    Hi all,

I will not mention products other than one in this post but I have to say that Larry' Seyers's Drums out of Tascam, sounds quite convincing. I love to play drums in real time when it comes to the Jazz Genre. The only way to get the juice out of Seyer's collection to accomodate this is to really practice the sounds (kits) that are mapped out on the keyboard. Of course a few tweaks in post production could really marvel the finished drum part.

    Thoughts are welcome here..

I believe they are a sample library formatted for use in Gigastudio 3.

Those drums sound really good. And, giga can be used as a vsti. Best of both worlds.

No, Giga can not be used as a VSTi Jose. It can be used in ReWire as your best bet - but still not the same (ie: instrument set-ups aren't saved with the project file you have to save it seperately, etc.)

Then how come my manual says that it can? I'm confused.

Perhaps it says you can use VST effects in GIgaStudio?

That or Tascam has made an update that I'm not aware of. As of GS3.0 it was not available as a VST. Could you type out a sentence or two from the section of the manual you are referring to?

You can use VST effects within GigaStudio, but you can not use GigaStudio as a VSTi within your sequencer (unlike, e.g., Kontakt). You have to either use Rewire or use Giga Studio as a standalone application.
