    Portable MIDI Controller

Now that I have my new PowerBook 1.67 17 inch (woohoo), I am looking into a portable MIDI controller for entering into Finale and playing into Digital Performer with GPO. Does anyone have any recommendations?

    My priorities are:
    Price
Contollers (at least a mod wheel)
Size (2 octaves maybe - but not too large, still portable)
    USB

    Thanks for all your suggestions!

Been looking for something like that myself.

There's a mess of them over at www.8thstreetmusic.com to pick from; though I can't say I'm really familiar with any of them.

By the by: Has anyone seen a *wireless* small keyboard controller?

    I really hate wires... lol.

I still love my Edirol PCR-30: 2.5 octaves, good feel, lots of knobs and sliders, two MIDI pedal inputs, and USB powered. Perfect for plopping on my lap in front of the PC when I don't feel like rolling the office chair over to the larger keyboard.

Could probably get them cheaper ($125?) now that there's a slightly updated line of the same boards (with an "M" designation).

This one looked kinda neat for travel -- very slim design to it: 1-3/16" thick.

Thanks to all for your recommendations!

I'll be doing some research on the products you've recommended.

I'll let you know what I choose and how it all works out.

    Dan -
What's your history with DP? Long-time user?
