Which will eat more of my CPU Kompakt or Kontakt

Just ordered Cubase SX 3 coming over from Logic 5.5. I need to replace my EXS24 sampler. I have many Giga files and also EWQLSO gold which uses Kompakt.

I was looking at the two different versions and wondered:

    1. which version was more CPU friendly
    2. which sound engine was better
    3. will the sound engine and efficiency be better in Kontakt 2

There are some good prices out there for Kontakt 1.5 ($297) with maybe an upgrade to Kontakt 2. I am looking for the best sounding Sampler that is also CPU friendly.

You use the program, what do you suggest.

    Thanks!
    Jim

    1. About equal but you can do more in one instance of Kontakt.
    2. Kotakt
    3. Kontakt is pretty efficient now but I'm sure there will be improvements, but we will be getting lots of new features.

    1) Actually Kompakt , since its scaled down features don`t need to suck as much CPU .But theres is little diff. anyways..
    2) They are identical sounding as far as i can tell since they use excactly the same code and Engine. Think of it like: Cubase SE sounds the same as SX .SX just has more features...
    3) I think it will since K2 has Ram Purge and will offer surround features borrowed from Absynth 3. Also the Scripting willl be nice for developers etc...

Ive actually been using Kontakt since the 1st month it came out as an alternative to the then super buggy and overly expensive Giga Studio, and this is the 1st time since then that Ive been really excited about a Kontakt release. I think K2 is gonna be a major sampler. Rich
