What's that dot next to the MIDI channel selector?

The little round button next to the MIDI channel selector in GPO...what's that do? If you click it, it turns white, but I haven't discovered either what it does or how to turn it back off. Does it have any function at all? The GPO manual doesn't even mention it.

That's the 'delete all recently saved midi files' button. Please don't press it.

Seriously, I have absolutely no idea.

in kontakt it's a midi indicator. shows if the thing is receiving midi info, although you have to look really closely to see any activity unless you hit your keyboard with a long and very heavy piece of timber.
in GPO it functions as a quasi-panic button. you turn it on and think to yourself,
    - oh holy mary mother of god what have i done now. the thundering thing won't go off. i'm doomed! -
well it worked like that with me the first time.
