    Hi, all...

I haven't forgotten you and hope you have some vague remembrance of me!
    Haven't posted much due to...

    tax season
    sick kids
lots o' gigs on the ol' euphonium
onerous committee assignment at the college--promotion & tenure
    numerous copying jobs
    working on Overture 4 beta...

Just wanted to say hi to all my GPO friends...

    Welcome back Snorlax,

We have not forgotten you. In fact, you were missed so much that many of us had to go to the official "Adopt a Snorlax" website: http://welcome.to/adoptasnorlax

Glad you're back among friends and hope you had a splendid holiday.

    Thumbs up Re: Snorlax Lives!!

Hey Jim - glad to have you back, at least for a quick update. If you get a chance, I'd love to hear the good word on the Overture 4 beta.

Best holiday wishes to you and yours. This is a good time of year to be a Euphoniumist - I hope the gigs are plentiful and all indoors.

Re: Snorlax Lives!! And Snorlax has a Birthday!

And just one more thing (as Columbo would say)..

    HAVE A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

This Saturday, January 8th, is Snorlx's Birthday. I'll be away next weekend and if I can't get online, have a happy birthday! May you have many years of no taxes, kids who never get sick, many euphonium gigs, well-paid and easy committee assignments, ditto copying jobs and a bug free Overture.

Thanx, Gary & Styxx, DPDAN and HHs 1/2...I'm touched (or should I say appreciative?)

I must report one thing: Elvis's birthday is Saturday. So's mine. Have you ever seen us together? I've been known to frequent fast-food restaurants in Michigan, too. I have a gross white jumpsuit in my closet...
    Snorlax is leaving the building...

Presents Expected: New book by Doug Ramsey--Take Five: The Public and Private Lives of Paul Desmond.
Nice fountain pen (even though I'm left-handed)

Without violating any NDAs...Ove 4 will be excellent. You heard it from the Lax!!

    See you all...Snor

lots o' gigs on the ol' euphonium
You don't really expect us to believe that, do you, Jim? I'll bet you don't even have a beeper for emergency gigs, like most respectable trombonists (OK, there are no respectable trombonists, but you get my drift)...

Always wanted to ask - if you get a gig on double-bell euphonium, do you get paid: a) doubling scale, because of the two bells, b) regular scale, it's only one instrument, or c) split the difference, half the instrument is a double, the rest is single?

(I also ask this of double-bassists, but I just get dirty looks...)

But seriously, welcome back. You've been gone so long, we though you had become Ex-Lax... (Boo, hiss)
