    Worst thing about Spectrasonics

I love their products, hate their support.

No phone (that I can find today). emails are returned within about a week.

I've searched the site. Usually, before I get any answer from them a friend has come through with the answer.

Tutorial video 11 Edit page. Is bad or missing.

I need to know how to edit one single sample in a set of turntable samples. Is there an easy way?

    Help.

Play the slice, then ASSIGN->Create Edit Group.

    Re: Worst thing about Spectrasonics

There is also a Spectrasonics Yahoo Group:

    http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/spectrasonics/

They WILL be producing a Stylus RMX manual (not just the videos). I assume they wanted to achieve their promised release date and something had to give (the manual).

I am also sure they are currently swamped with orders and trying to make updates to Stylus RMX. Stylus RMX is their first "internally designed" software product (Stylus, Atmosphere, and Trilogy used the "UVI" engine made by a different company). Software development and support is tough, and Spectrasonics is "learning". They have always created great sounds, but they are now adding software development.

I wonder if Eric ever gets any sleep.

Our tech support is really excellent, but they're experiencing an unusually high volume of requests in the last two weeks, so reponse time is slower than usual. Just hang in there though.....they get to you.

Do keep in perspective that on this thread alone, you got almost instant answers directly from the chief software designer of your instrument, and the founder of the company.

    Not too bad really...... ;-)

(How many other companies that you say that about?)

You're right. I felt bad about posting after a bit. IMHO your website needs some work. I guess most small companies don't want their phone number too obvious. (So, maybe its just right)

I did finally find the updates, where the replacement video for Edit Groups was found. But it was in the "News" section. And I had to dig throught there to find the updates. But I finally did.

How about a link on the front page that says, "Updates?"

I found it fairly easy to get an, "Upgrade," but I've already done that.

    No, "Support," link clearly visible.

But great products. I really love RMX and Trilogy.

Sorry, that you guys are so busy, I guess there are worse problems.

Keep up the good work. Timely update for the scrolling problem too. I still haven't been able to use DFHS since I bought it about 4 weeks ago.

Hmmm.....I have a feeling you didn't even see the Spectrasonics.net home page?

    http://www.spectrasonics.net/home.html

Check it out....the Updates link is very prominent there on the side panel.

    Re: Worst thing about Spectrasonics

Every time I type "www.spectrasonics.net" into my browser, it takes me to an RMX promo page.

I should have typed, "www.spectrasonics.net/home.html". But I assumed that typing your comnpany name would put me to the home page.

    Whoops.

Clicking the Spectrasonics.net link there on that intro page takes you to the home page too.

    Re: Worst thing about Spectrasonics

    Eric,

I had the same problem last night finding the updates page. The way your website is set up now is very confusing. The link to spectrasonics.net is so small on my screen that I didn't notice it (or just thought it was text).

Finally, I typed spectrasonics.net/updates and found it, but it took me about 10 minutes of clicking around the site. At the very least you need to add the rest of the site links to the Stylus RMX page so you don't get trapped in a cycle of pages that do not show you the whole site.

Even when you click "Home" it still takes you back to the referral page instead of home.htm.

BTW, I ordered the Liquid Grooves add-on from Ilio early in the week. Can't wait to get it!
