    Opening up my music catalog

Okay, I don't want to make a big deal about this, so I'll make this short and simple:

All of you GPO folks can download my music for free by going to:

    http://kevinselby.com/gpo/

I'm not trying to shamelessly promote my stuff, I just wanted a small way to give back to this community (since y'all are such great guys and gals) and since some of the stuff out there is relaxing and peaceful, maybe it will help show my appreciation (especially if you've had a bear of a day!).

I think this will really come in handy as I get more GPO stuff out there and in those cases, I will try to provide a Sonar file as well as a .mid file for those interested in seeing how I arranged/orchestrated certain things.

Enough. If you like the stuff, great, if not, that's okay too!

Oh, almost forgot, some day it will probably be password protected, so that's why I included the username/pword in my signature. Right now it's wide open though...so no need for the credentials.

Hi Kevin, I listened to Mary Did You Know, you have a very nice touch!
What sound did you use for the "vocal ooohs"?
    Thanks, powerful song huh?

Very powerful indeed! The Oohs were a soundfont that I either purchased from EMU or downloaded...can't remember, however, if played right (and I'm not saying I nailed it because I can always play these things better!) it really adds to the song. Hopefully someone else will come up with a good vocal set of samples (hint!). Thanks for listening!! Lament for 9-11-2001 also has those oohs on them as does We Three Kings (both on Orchestral Christmas).

Oh, and the acoustic guitar on "Mary" was also a soundfont, but I am REALLY looking forward to using the various guitars on the Roland Super Quartet that I'll be purchasing soon. Some of them are the bomb!!

    Kevin,

Listening to "It is well with my soul" as I'm typing this. Very nice stuff, man, and I also like your spirit of sharing.

Please consider sending some of your GPO work to us at the Composer Channel for airplay. And when you enter your composer info, be sure to put in a link to where people can buy your work! One of my major goals with this station is to help put more money into the hands of my fellow musicians by promoting great quality music that people will enjoy listening to over and over again.

Cool! Glad y'all like the stuff.

I was definitely going to head over to the composers website thingey and sign up. I'll submit "It is Well" at first, but that song, along with 9 others will make up "Orchestral Hymns Vol. 1", so there will definitely be more to add.

I'll tell ya what...there are exciting times ahead for ALL of us!! This GPO thing is doing more than I thought even in ways I never expected. I NEVER expected to do a 30 second spot for an independent ministry that I hadn't heard of in 10 years. This is opening up new ideas for me on how to make money with our talent and of course with a great sound library such as GPO. I may never see the fruition of some of the things I'm dreaming up of late, but it's still fun dreaming them!! And I'm just ONE guy. There are thousands out there tons better than me that will DEFINITELY be using GPO in new and interesting ways, some of which to make money. VERY cool!!

Anyway...gotta actually get some work done today...nice chatting with you nice folks! Enjoy the music...there will definitely be more to come (ooh...I think most of you will REALLY like Palouse...heh heh....smooth jazz is SO cool!).
