And Now For The Truly Bizarre....

OK we all need a break once in awhile. Anyone figure this out, please post the answer.

Stand erect in front of say, a door, or doorjam. Hold one arm straight out so that your fingers just touch the doorjam.

Now bend that arm at the elbow, and with the other hand, rub the inside of your forearm. Now, without leaning forward, try to touch the doorjam again.

You'll be about an inch short.

    Now it gets really dicey.

Bend and rub your arm again.

Reach back for the doorjam and you'll be able to reach it again.

This is just too strange. My son just showed it to me.

And I thought Gigaeditor was a mystery....

Try it again, only this time look at your shoulder when you do it. Make sure it stays in the same place. Now, what happened??

    It didn't work on me.

I'm a swimmer and I just finished a 3,800 meter workout (about 2.4 miles). During every stroke we drill it into our heads to reach! reach! reach!

I'll try it on my family. They only swim for fun.

HAHHAHA ! This thing actually worked !

I don't know what is funnier, the trick itself or the fact that someone discovered it

Has anybody seen a person trying this without actually knowing what should happen? I think this has an (subconscious) influence on your posture.

I agree, I think you just move your shoulder or your whole body back while rubbing your forearm. I tried what you suggested and was always able to reach the door.
