Happy with GS3 ... but still crashing quite a lot

Well GigaPulse sounds fantastic ... but I'm a bit worried about overall stability on my system (AMD 3Ghz, 1.5 Gbyt RAM, Gigabyte K7 Triton Motherboard, ESI Wami Rack)

Is this the place to report bugs ?

    - It is crashing quite a lot for me, and I've only been playing with it for a few hours.
    - GigaPulse keeps disappearing whenever DSP station gets docked
    - GigaPulse A and B buttons aren't visible (they are shown in full manual)
    - File / Exit .... always gives me an Abnormal Termination warning
    - Tried to run Quick Edit with new GigaPiano (24 bit) ... CRASH
    - Froze while I was searching for some samples ... refused to load any samples after this until I had rebooted machine and forced database rebuild
    - seems very memory hungry ~~ 195 Mbytes BEFORE any samples loaded.

Am I the only one experiencing problems like these ?

On a more subjective perspective ....
    - I love the mult-mic impulses ... lots of very useful impulses
    - apart from VSL freebies, the Budapest Organ seems to by far the most generous and awsome sounding free content. Great full instruments and wonderful impulse.
    - Can't say I can hear much of a difference with the microphone convolution ... have to listen extremely, extremely carefully, and then I'm not sure if its just my imagination hearing a difference (but then I don't have golden ears) - I am listening with headphones also .. though can't see why that would make a difference.

Funny, I haven't had one crash yet, not one of the problems you describe.
GS3, for me, is extremely stable.

    Andyt,

You might run chkdsk on all your drives (right-click each drive and do the following, select properties, tools tab, check-now - check both boxes. Then reboot, take a long lunch break), and also do the long memory test, which can hopefully be enabled in your BIOS. Giga beats the crap out of a PC. It will find its weaknesses!

AMD? Giga freaks know that Pentium is what makes Giga tick!

this should not make any difference, i have no problems with amd and nvidia chipset on about 50 machines now.
what chipset do u (original poster) use?
try to check your memory using prime95 this is the best app to check memory.

i can answer this by my self:

    nForce2 Ultra 400 North Bridge
    nForce2 MCP-T South Bridge

this should be no problem but the memory could. i had lots of errors and or bad memory with dual memory boards.
even if you never had a problem befor it would not mean that the memory is working 100% right on your motherboard. try to check prime95.
if its 100% ok even after 1-2 hours your memory should be perfect.

in this case wait for an 3.xx update ;-)

Update your video card drivers. Many of your symptoms are video-centric, and those that aren't could actually be related.

I know that sounds nuts, but during the beta, I had a machine which crashed like mad--literally all the time. I updated my video card drivers, and presto, no more problems.

And definitely report problems directly to Tascam.

which video card did u use? i allways tried to install very old ati rage128 cards which worked allways perfect. i had often bad luck with matrox which is busting the pci bus (even its agp. off cause!) and with older driver versions of nvidia (crashing gigastudio)

    Mine was an NVidia card.

Going with "old" cards may not be a great solution these days. I try to go with "simple" but fairly modern cards.
