    Dry samples

Are all the instruments in GPO recorded with no ambiences? I mean totally dry with no reverb.

    Re: Dry samples

    Ed,

GPO has wet and dry versions of all the instruments. In addition Ambience reverb is also included.

We recorded the instruments not too dry (to be totally dry you would need to be in an anechoic chamber) but not too wet. If we were to record wet we would be locked into one particular room. One can add reverb but cannot take it away once it is in the samples. So we took great care in finding the right balance. Music is performed in many different spaces and venues, so flexibility was an important design goal with GPO.
