    midi file translator

Since I got winrar installed a few weeks ago, it opens when I try to open midi file translator. I don't know how to translate a file anymore. Does anyone know how to do that? It worked fine before.

    thanks,
    Frank

Come on, wizzkids! I need your help.

What is this crap with WinRaR? Why can't I open the midi translator anymore? Do I have to run the setup again? I use this translator like crazy!

    cheers,
    Frank

    Hi Trond,

I knew I could rely on you! It is probably the best idea. I just don't understand why it does that.

    cheers,
    f.

Are you running on a Mac or PC?

What specifically do you mean when you say "WinRAR" opens when you try to run midi file translator? Do you mean if you select the "midi translator icon" in your PC Start menu that WinRAR launches?

Yes, it happens on my pc

    To be precise:

I get a window called: GPO Midi Translator.jar - WinRaR
with lots of options suchs as: add, extract, test, view, virusscan, SFX, etc

    There are 4 maps; one probably the open one;
the others are: META-INF, Convertmidi.class, ExampleFileFilter
If I click one of those, I get an identical window.

I uninstalled WinRaR and everything is normal again!

You don't have java installed, go to java.com.

You need to check the icon properties and see what folder the shortcut is opening. You can also make changes using Folder Options.
Once in a while some shortcuts will get messed up.
