Can anyone recomend a great Oboe sample?

Hi everyone I'm searching for a "magestic" and "pure" sound and I decided I will use an Oboe for my piece but I do not know what the favorite library out there is that uses one. I'd prefur not to have to buy an entire orchestra just for one instrument but if 50 people all say the same one maybe it's an option.
    Thanks

    Seth

    Hi Seth,

I dont own it, but Westgate Woodwinds might be a good bet.

Hey Seth, GPO has a great one in my humble opinion. If you go to the hollywood demo page at Garritan.com, I have a demo there called "Finding My Way" that features one of the solo oboes from GPO in a fairly exposed context. Hope this helps.

Just got the Vienna oboe in the mail, it really is fantastic. Plus, you get a bonus eb clarinet and English horn too, both of which sound top-notch. Sure, it's expensive, but you'll get the most realistic sounding sampled oboe yet.

Thumbs up Re: Can anyone recomend a great Oboe sample?

    Seth,

Here's the link to audition the samples at Westgate Studios:

Here's a link to HOS for a better price:

I have the expanded collection. For the money, these samples sound really wonderful.

GPO (Garritan Personal Orchestra) includes four seperate oboes - and they sound fantastic IMHO... I know you said you didn't want a full orchestra for one instruent - but how about a full orchestra for four.. hehehe

Well I am willing to shell out about the cost of that library for a good sound, and I am quite impressed with other demos of it, so I may go that rout. so far that VSL one is super I'm still looking for more uses in other library's though.
