    String Quartett No.2 in f-minor - I. Allegro moderato

Good to be here again. I didn't know that the site is open again .. :-)

Here I'd like to share with you my second string quartett's first movement. I think it's very melodious with some intersting counterpoint passages in the development section. It ends with an expressive slow variation of the main theme:

    Hi Gerd,

    Ich gratuliere recht herzlich!

What a fantastic piece of music. It's very promising for the other movements with such a deep expression and rich variety in themes and techniques. It shows your mastership in that genre. In one word: it invites live players to put it on the repertoire! (Let's hope that will happen once.)
The recording is pretty good, although in a few spots the violins sound a little harsh (too much mids?). For the rest, a fine work to listen to!

    Looking forward for more!

    Jos

    Hello Gerd,

I enjoyed your string quartet. There is a lot of musical interest and skillful arranging involved in this piece and a lot of hard work no doubt.

I would think it definitely holds it’s own in comparison to master composer’s work of the classical/romantic period if I have that right.

    Phil
